50 Kisses is now fine cutting and close to picture lock

So we have been a little quiet for the last couple of months as we have been beavering away at post production on 50 Kisses.

I sat today with editors Simon Reglar and Ricky Milling and watched what was pretty close to a fine cut of the final movie. And I have got to tell you, it flew by! We have made an effective, surprisingly powerful, funny, gut wrenching and unique movie that reflects the talent of tomorrow. How cool is that!? BOOM!

We have done a huge amount of work on some of the films – and some of you will have had a call from us about getting access to your project and media so we can see all your rushes, extend a shot, replace a shot here and there etc. It’s surprising how films play differently in the context

Once we lock picture, we will need to start building the front and end credits in After Effects (can you offer help? If so email gail@londonswf.com) and start work on the sound design and sound mix. Many of you have done a good job with the sound, but we need to take it up a notch for distribution. If you have audio post skills and want to help, again, please drop Gail a line.

Once we have done the sound we will do a final picture conform (you may still get a call from us about your footage at this point) and the final picture grade and mastering. From there we will produce the final DCP and files for distribution.

Only then will we lock in a premiere date.

We have learned that, surprise surprise, EVERTHING takes longer than expected. We have all worked so hard, let’s get it right and make a movie we can truly be proud of.

Onwards and upwards!

Great news. Can we see the promotional trailer which includes clips from all the entries. Which films have been selected for the final movie?

Huge thanks for the update, Chris! I'm so proud that the team decided to do it right, rather than do it fast. Onward and Upward, indeed.

Thanks for the update and the blog. Good reading.
I've since on the back of The Moment directed a comedy satire that's now being pitched to raise money. I'm one of three directors on the project. It's a kind of prologue for a feature this year. This of course never would have happened (me being asked to direct) had it not
been for the success of 50 Kisses and me of course making The Moment. The producer loved it and asked me as well as acting in it, to direct a significant section of the movie. It's a nuts ball comedy about a screenwriter that tries to get his screenplay produced into a movie.
I'll send you a link soon. I screened The Moment on Saturday as part of the other films
at the screening and it brought the house down! I was shocked and humbled, It was the first time I've shown it and the reaction caught me by utter surprise. So thanks again to Chris and everyone behind the 50 Kisses for your inspiration and of course to the writer Stephen Cooper. I will share the short film/prologue soon. And just as exciting is the reveal of the 50 Kisses feature film.. can't wait to see it! Exciting times.

    Judson.

Whilst we are in the mood for sharing, I currently have a 90second short viral in the finals of a competition held by Typhoo Tea. Having views, 'Likes' and comments will help me to win. Please have a look on the link above and help a fellow 50Kisses filmmaker out!
Also, if you really enjoyed it, you can vote for my video on Typhoo Tea's Facebook page; https://www.facebook.com/TyphooTea?fref=ts

I would be grateful of any help, especially if anyone shared it around for me too! And, likewise, anyone who posts there work on here which needs supporting I always jump at the chance to be of use to any filmmakers who need it.

    Cheers!
