'The Moment' by Sandcastle Pictures

(Vancouver, Canada) First Edit

We found out about the contest about 10 days before the deadline.  We read all 50 scripts, and the script "The Moment" was a script we really liked and was doable in the limited time remaining.  We shot it on our beloved Red Scarlet camera.

fun moment but I feel that there is lack of tension between both characters.

I think the film plays well, i like the performances and the camera work. My mine suggestion would be to take a look at the sound. The sound clearly cuts with the shot and its takes you out of the film. If you over lap the sound a bit more I think the whole film will flow better.

Agree with many of the comments. Film was edited (editing, sound, graded) in 9 hours before deadline. :). Will definitely clean up the audio and revisit grading. We were going for a slightly humorous version as we felt the dialogue supported this regardless of the gravity of the situation. Appreciate all comments. Will post a second cut shortly for further feedback.

I think playing slightly light hearted allows the script to play smoothly and you hit it nicely. Very good likeable acting.

I could only see one possible detail and that is the kiss was to long and enjoyable for the hitman and would have accepted at that point they had a moment. Could have played better if the victim had been more enthusiastic and the hitman pulled away Making his later change of heart more believable.

New version posted for viewing. Attempted to address all issues raised. Lots of new sound design, and added footage in a few key areas to create more tension.
