The Homebase store in Salisbury, Wiltshire kindly gave us permission to shoot in their store - we shot with a crew of 3 in a day while the store was open. Filming in a store which was
open for business was challenging but we did it! We shot on a Sony EX3.

First cut: Producers notes for the filmmakers
- If you want to go in this direction, work in the sound and use more comical sound effects.
- Work on your grading as you should get more colour and punch for comedy.
- Try trimming, some of the gags linger too long.

I thought at first it was along the lines of Mr Bean until they started talking. I think you should take this further and use the same characters to make an hour long episode using the same quirky comedy style. Quite entertaining.

Mark, many thanks for the comments and yes we were trying to get a Mr Bean, Carry On type feel to the film. We could have shot it with no dialogue but I wanted to stay as close to possible to the script. It's very much a British type comedy and no doubt some people will like and others not.

When I first read the script I thought it was too weird for my taste. I think you handled this well. I would've had a hard time dreaming up a suitable approach, so the absurd style you chose is as good as anything I would've done. That said, it's a little too far fetched to be cohesive. Random sound effects, cheesy score, crazy editing. It's overwhelming and doesn't allow a focus. Too many moving parts. The humor gets lost. I think with simplifying the soundtrack and smoothing out the editing you can find the center and deliver a good punch line. That's a fit bird btw.

Liked the film - I thought it more Benny Hill than Carry On..... liked it a lot.

Weird... i think thats a good thing. I remember not really getting the script and seeing it brought to life hasn't really helped. That said you seen to have done a good job with it. I would just tighten some of the edits and quicken the pace a little... I think.

Enjoyed it certainly makes you laugh and yeah its strange but then again why make a predictable film. its nice to see something different

Definately different to the standard fare and the better for it. The Benny Hill approach remninded me somewhat of The Fast Show sketches and overall it made me smile with good casting. The POV from underneath the scanner was intresting although the dialogue seemed marginally out of sync and the protagonists should have been wearing generic store uniforms in my opnion.

Enjoyed this real throw back to an earlier age of comedy good acting, direction and filming well done keep 'em coming.

Loved the Mr. Bean slant you've created. It made me laugh out loud! You have fitted alot into the time available but ulike the other comments, I think the pacing is fine. I think it is a great film and I love the way you have told the story.

What a great little film and unlike many entrants told within the time frame. The quirky fun script was brought alive by great performances and the director managed to pull out great comedy comedy moments - no easy feat in 2 minutes. It made me laugh out loud. To me a film is all about story and this film certainly told a complete and funny story. Well done.

Very entertaining short! I liked the cheeky Carry On style, and the sound effects, and music added to the comedy value although it was a bit dated it was still fun to watch. I thought there was no dialogue at first with the customer so it was a surprise to have the dialogue at the end, but still worked well with the story. Well done!

Very funny and a great quirky film - should be more fun comedy like this. Made me laugh out loud. Really liked the Stop sign pinging across to stop the man getting to his girl. Thought it well shot and edited and great comic performances. Look forward to seeing more from this director as comedy is so difficult and this hit the mark.

Very Benny Hill - made me laugh! Really got it this time round - great direction and editing, everything clear about the story-line, and the actors and special effects were great too! Well done Deanna & Terry!

In its way, this film is just as 'authored' as Anil Rao's version of 'Neil' - the filmmakers have gone down the broad comedy road of the 'Carry On' films & Mr Bean, and it works brilliantly! I love all the dubbed vocal noises, and wonder what the film would have been like if they had dropped all the dialogue - I think it still would have worked. The new edit is about as tight as it can go - well done to all involved!

Loved it! This new edit is tight and clear and the sound effects exactly right. Storyline excellent, no doubts about who is keen on whom and why. And it's so FUNNY! I think Gull Films have really hit it right with this one!
