Subtle and true. Yes, I know the writer, but she knows me well enough to know that I'd also be brutally honest! It's a very touching, sincere script. I like it.

This seems to have missed the brief by not being set on Valentine's Day. Apart from that, it wasn't made plain who Sylvia - was she speaking to camera, was it a V.O., or was she talking to a photo of
George? Quite confusing. It also fell into the trap of having too much exposition in the monologue. I think this would actually work better set as a poem.
I felt this seemed more like an opening to a bigger story rather than a 2 page screenplay. It was good, subtle and heartfelt. It's kind of haunting to think that we are in the end..dust.

Sorry, John. I meant to include a calendar on the wall in the living room as a pointer to the fact that she was actually burying her husband on Valentine's Day. And as she's on her own, she's just
talking to herself - like you do when you're alone. (Well, I do!) Hope that clears the confusion up. Like the idea of it being a poem, though. Hadn't thought of that.
