60 Year Valentine by Marc Lockier Draft 2

60 Year Valentine by Marc Lockier Draft 1
Draft One Producers Development Notes for the author
1. We liked this concept and felt the tone and texture of the script will complement others in the film.
2. Consider keeping the couple dancing throughout the sequences rather than – in some cases – going off to the side and coming back in. By letting the change of their circumstances and life
happen around them, it almost becomes a dance through time and love. You will need to work closely with whatever filmmaker chooses to do this film to get the sequencing right in this film as it
is a very visual piece.
3. Consider ended the film with the woman going to sit down. Not the ghostly dance. We will get that she is alone Could her husband spin her to the side and then disappear?
4. Read the other 50 Kisses script First, Last, Best – It is quite a similar theme. How can you differentiate yourself from this script?
Have your say, what do you think?

Brilliant! I love this. Well done Marc. No dialogue throughout - all visual. Great work.

Beautiful story Marc. Simple, moving, visual. Brought tears to my eyes. Love that there's no dialogue. An entire life in 2 pages. Impressive. Can't wait to see it made.

Thank you for your comments, I'm glad you like it. I'm still stunned over making it but thank you.

So sweet, love this 'notebook' -esque piece.

Absolutely adorable, brilliantly portrayed and daring to go through so many years. An excellent addition to 50 Kisses!

Another script I could easily visualise on a first pass. On my second pass I saw it differently, and different again on a third pass. This has the potential to be a very powerful piece.

It's a very heartfelt piece and I loved how so much was communicated without a single line of dialogue. Bravo. The only bit that felt a little confusing were the last two lines. If the husband had already passed before the "younger selves slowly fade(d) in, then it seems impossible and I would say even unnecessary for us to see them in their eighties in a later paragraph. But this is minor and I could be missing something.

Congratulations - a lovely script - think it will work beautifully when filmed.

A lovely story that could play beautifully on screen. The challenge for the filmmaker is to successfully age the couple through 60 years - the biggest time jump is only 15 years, so I'm not sure that substituting different actors will work - unless you can find very similar-looking people that are at the correct ages. But I hope a way around can be found because its a great story.

I can see this being a popular choice for Directors as it provides a good creative opportunity in terms of visuals as well as having a bit of fun with the advances in music throughout the time settings. I enjoyed this, well done.

This reminds me of those TV adverts that have been used a lot lately where they go through key stages in families' lives and are very touching. It is perfectly written and very visual. Love the ending, a unique touch.

Beautiful little story! If I had a bigger budget I would definitely consider making this one.

yes, a very good story and will look good as long as a filmmaker can get it all right. And there is a lot to get right? 8 sets of clothes (many period) A large cast (many ages and a lot looking similer) and redress the hall each time.
As Samantha said, a lot of TV adverts about like that at the moment. How much do they cost to make?
I hope someone can do it justice? -

May I cheekily suggest - for those film makers with smaller or restricted budgets - my near kiss 2, "Dance Me To The End of Love"? Can't blame me for trying, but congrats to Marc for a very good winning script! :-)

Great story! Loved it, very sensitive and moving shown only through expression and body language.
