First cut: Producers notes for the filmmakers

  • Acoustic world a bit bland, could do more with FX, atmos and foley given the film is post dubbed.
  • Work on the post sync dialogue, needs a ‘world’ putting around it by remixing.
  • Feels like it needs rain atmos too.

    Like the film. Think the colours and lighting really suit the story. The problem I have with it is the sound (which seems to be a big problem with this script as all the versions have issues). Just need to find a way to go in and out of the voices overs better. Maybe some foley work would help. Also it needs to be trimmed down a fair bit. Drags in the middle. Still, really enjoyed it. Looking forward to the re-edit.

    I would suggest having a cutaway to Stacy during her dialogue about his dimples, it would break up the shot of watching Dave in slow motion plus it would give a face to the voice. Obviously the audience knows at this point that it is her thoughts we are listening to, but there was still something odd about a female voice over an image of Dave without seeing where it was coming from.
