Second Edit

We are a group of students at the University of Manchester; in the time-old student fashion, we scrimped together a budget of under £10 to make this film!

'The Moment' by Cut To Productions

First Edit

First cut: Producers notes for the filmmakers

  • Trim the head - don’t need so much setup
  • Music WAY too loud, you can’t hear anything else at the start!
  • Dialogue really poorly recorded – can you revoice?
  • Foley missing too
  • Grading needs work too.
  • Most of all work on the music, its way tooooooo big and loud

I really enjoyed it. I think you need to cut a lot of the intro out as the film runs a little long and it doesn't add much in the way of tension but when it gets going it plays out very well. OUt of all the ones i've seen so far this one has how I pictured the kiss to be and really works.

The sound needs some serious work on Thomas. It's barely audible at times and along with the trimming the beginning I think you will have a great film.

I agree that the sound is pretty hard to listen to. Also, the assassin has obviously never held a real gun in his life. I actually laughed out loud when he held it up! The lighting on his profile shot was really beautiful!!

The music is too big but would be a good choice if u had a bigger production value seen on screen...and then maybe move to a less serious tone as we see the funny side of the story. For some reason when i look at the actor to be killed, i cant see him getting involved in very serious stuff that he gets killed..but maybe yes, maybe he is just a student geek..but then he would be under the protection of government. i think the problem in this film is about atmosphere (and yes i know how it is with low budget) the location needs to be more sophisticated...and maybe the way the actors were dressed could be different. it looks like a student house :) U guys are good storytellers though, i can see that the budget had bad effect on your potential. Among all the "moments" which is my favorite screenplay although i didnt shot that one..THE BEST KISS, is this one. I found the others too slow and soft. The kiss has to be fast, the killer is doing it to prove him wrong, not to enjoy the kiss...but the realization comes a bit after the kiss..in this film, i feel it. Good luck to you!
